Khula Development Group
After an amazing volunteers morning, we would like to thank every one participating in this blessed morning. Holy Spirit is stirring up a huge passion and fire in our hearts for Paarl East!
As jy nie die oggend kon mee maak nie en belangstel om met ons kontak te maak, is jy so welkom.

Our ministry towards the out of school boys started off with much excitement!!
Two of our boys were trained as Baristas and made the most wonderful coffee at a function of Project 2017 at Kronenburg. They also enjoyed playing drums and 10 of them started with training as waiters at Butterfly House. We also showed the movie Deadraiser and they were encouraged towards their faith in Jesus!
Western Cape Bookmakers Association thank you for an amazing Year-end outing for our kids and an extremely generous contribution of R20 000! What an incredible reward for these kids who attended and finished another year in school - often under very difficult circumstances. Above all, we thank our Heavenly Father and all glory to Him alone!!
Khula took 34 of the boys that we work with at Butterfly House, on a camp at Bergkroon in Wellington.
The purpose of the camp was to create a safe space where healing, rest, play, sport and deep spiritual input could take place.
We took hands with staff and volunteers of Every Nation Paarl who acted as camp leaders and mentors. Other stakeholders like Josie Sieli and Tony Litchfield of Manyano Centre also came to help with sport activities.
Amazing things happened on the camp. After the first session on forgiveness by Allister Golding, some of the boys forgave each other, tears flowed as they also forgave parents and people that brought suffering into their lives.
On Wednesday night Zander Botha taught on the father-heart of God. He invited the group to come forward for prayer and receive the love of Jesus. The boys were on their knees crying and reaching out towards the Only One that could restore their broken hearts. 15 Boys came to Christ on the camp.
Other sessions on God's purpose for our lives and making the right decisions were ministered by Johan Beukes and Kenny Ackerman.
We thank God for this opportunity and will keep on working with and praying for them.
November was a very busy month in all Khula Paarl's programs!
Our womensgroup at Butterfly House completed their prayer scrapbooks and also made some gifts for Christmas. They are playing an integral part in interceding for their community and our work with children. We are so thankful for their love and dedication!
Our fieldworkers were still involved in a lot of prayer for the children that we work with, especially before the final exams. At Groenheuwel Primary our fieldworkers were also exited to be part of a tree planting ceremony.
In our learner support program Alta Bester worked very hard to help the children in preparation for the exams.
Our out-of-school youth program started with wrestling and tug-of-war. Some of our boys were invited to our branch in Stellenbosch where they spoke to other youth on a farm! They shared their testimonies and motivated the children not to drop out of school. Carien our Social worker completed the course with the group on making the right choices. SANCA also got involved with the group and their social auxiliary students are currently busy doing assessments.
We are so blessed to have 8 new Primary Caregivers in our new Orleansvale Primary School Group....
Our first formal session was amazing and so blessed....the laptop/speakers nothing wanted to work, but Holy Spirit was waiting for us and we (once again) saw that you don't need anything other than Holy Spirit to minister to the women.
We secondly focused on parent guidance and was fun to share with each other...We've made journals and had fun... We praise God for the birthing of this new womensgroup....
Our Butterfly Group had an amazing morning yesterday. They finished their prayer journals and Una ministered to them regarding the Covenant between God and His people... All the glory to God.
A lot of activities happened at our Out-of-School Youth Program.
We took 4 of our boys to testify to other children at Dennegeur in Franschoek. They are so eager to motivate other youth not to drop out of the school system.
We also held a primary caregiver-support morning tea, at Butterfly House. The boys had the chance to serve their family with nice cake and tea which was sponsored by Kronenburg Estate. We also celebrated our volunteer Tanya Schreuder's birthday. Another highlight was our visit to one of our group members who is currently in prison. We were able to talk with him and heard his wonderful testimony of God's love towards him in prison. He is currently in school in prison and will receive a certificate for his progress at the end of the year. Please keep him in your prayers!
In our fieldwork area Khula also started with our program at Klapmuts Primary. We are so excited to be part of God's intervention plan for the kids in this community. We are so thankful to KWV for supporting us in this.
Isn't it just amazing that whenever you think it's too late or the year is at its end, nothing new could happen, God ALWAYS comes through with NEW EXCITEMENT and NEW REFRESHING IDEAS!
Well, it is the end of 2014 nearly - but today we have started with a new womens group at Orleansvale Primary School, Paarl East. What a blessing - 18 women arrived, not sure what to excpect and walked out with excitement of something new which was just birthed. We trust God will keep on bringing these women weekly to be enriched through the blood of Jesus Christ. These are all mothers of children Khula Development Group are busy assisting in school. We want them to build relationships with each other and above all Jesus Christ, their Saviour and giving tools in their hands to deal with circumstances at home escpecially children in school.
Please pray that Father will keep on blessing this group and that they will keep on returning for more of His love.... Thank you Father for this new opportunity in Your Kingdom. All the glory to You...amen and amen.
Christopher, Gary and Auburn from the Out-of-School Boys Group were powerful tools in the Hand of our Father last night. They've shared their testimonies to a big group of learners and parents and out-of-school kids on the Roulou farm in Stellenbosch. We are expectant to see how our Father is going to move in & through these people after the blessings they have received last night! All glory to Him alone!!
