We are so excited that the Primary Caregiver's Group in Cloetsville has started with two sessions held in February.  Although still very small, the caregivers of the children (in our Khula program) are very excited and grateful for the emotional support.  This also helps the Social Worker to have one-on-one conversations with the mother's in order to measure how we can support the children remaining in school.

We are so excited to see what God is busy doing in our Klapmuts Primary Care Givers Group.

One of the ladies are in an abusive relationship where she and her children were physically abused, but since she started to come to the group she is positive to start making changes at home which will benefit her and her children.

Two new ladies started to join the group and we have received amazing feedback from both of them.

We were so privileged to have 4 new referrals of Primary Care Givers in the Nederburg area.  We investigated possible meeting facilities and are so thankful for Nederburg Primary School who started arranging to provide a classroom to facilitate all of Khula's in-school support programs for that area.

We are so proud of our Primary Care Givers who were trained to lead new groups and who will now be able to lead their own groups in this area.  This is unchartered waters for us.  However, we strongly believe that this is the model God has shown us.

All the glory to God!

We are so proud to say that one of our Gr. 4 learners excelled in school end of 2017.  He received a certificate as one of the best learners in his class.  He was one of the children who began attending school regularly in the last quarter.  Social circumstances were the main cause of his regular absence. Not only has he excelled in school, but his mother is also in the process of changing her life.  She has received a sponsor for a bungalow and has also now gotton a job.  All the glory to God for the intervention of this family's lifes.  That is our God we serve....!

Our team for 2017 - ready to proclaim God's love and freedom over our community's children....In 2017 we again declare that it is through the Lord who sustains us, that Khula can boldly go out and declare His Name, freely, in our community!

Psalm 3:2 Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” 3 But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. 4 I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.

We are so excited to say that at the end of 2016 there were so much positive feedback from all our schools we are working at.  Teachers are testifying of the progress of the khula children and are excited about the work Khula is doing in their schools!

Some changes they see in the children:

  • They are starting to show self-confidence
  • one child could only draw circles and could not write, but now he draw small people and he can write his name;  and
  • their behaviour is starting to be positive towards the teachers.

All the glory to God for the work He is doing in each one of these children's lives.

This week during individual sessions with learners at two primary schools, God showed me that He will use any opportunity to bring His sheep to Him.  Below is just two wow moments knowing that God will lead the way!

A learner was telling me how traumatised he was after seeing two gang-related killings. This lead to an opportunity for me to talk about being sure about life after death. He accepted Jesus as his saviour.  All the glory to God!

A learner from a different faith asked for prayer.  He was at a local shop at three pm. when the gangs started shooting. He had to run for cover and the sound of the gunshots are still ringing in his ears. He cannot sleep at night and wanted me to pray for him. What a miracle!  We serve a living God, who never leave, nor forsake us!  Thank you Father for your unconditional love!

During week of prayer, Marliza Koen, asked her Champion Group if they would like to soak.  These are the boys who is part of gangs and who try to make life difficult in school for others!  She put on some soaking music and asked them to lie down with their eyes closed.  She prayed over them and asked them to try and see what God wants to show them.

Some of them received visions of pain and hurt and she could minister to them!  Thank you Father... we will keep on praying for these boys to open up their spirit to you and start a new gang for Christ in Chicago, Paarl-East!!! We release that in the Name of Jesus! Amen and Amen

At our Explorers Group we have a little boy who really struggle to express himself and on top of that he is stuttering.  He is always trying to speak clearly.  Although he has got a good understanding, his speach is really setting him back.

  1. A grade 4 learner from Magnolia Primary, Paarl-East was 12 days absent in the first term and did not show interest in her schoolwork, but the teacher said that the learner is now attending school regularly and her schoolwork has improved greatly.

  2. After a grade 1 learner was referred to Khula, our fieldworkers did a visit to their home and

Our Klapmuts Fieldworkers went to look for 2 children who where abscent from school for 5 days and couldn't find them, but before giving up they went to the neighbour's house.  After speaking to the neighbour, they heard her cry for help and prayed for healing and restoration and she there and then gave her life to Jesus!  Praise God for always having bigger things planned, just when one think the moment has been wasted....  Where can you make a change in someone's life today!

Every year we can just stand back and watch how God is busy preparing His bride.  This year we experienced a great move in the spirit at our schools we are working in.  There were prayer walks, prayer chains formed around school grounds and prayer rooms! Children opened up their hearts towards God and there where a cry out to God to heal, restore and protect their community.

We will keep on proclaiming the Good News over this valley of ours...

We will keep on blessing and never stop praying for our community's children and schools!

"How many times have we missed what was POSSIBLE, because we were too focused on what was MISSING!"

While fixing holes is a learner’s jersey, another learner watched me closely. Looking at my skill with needle and thread, his observation was that I must have been at the School of Skills when I was young, because that is the only place he knows, that teaches sewing skills.

When I answered that all mothers must know how to do it, he was amazed. This was the opportunity I was praying for, (he wouldn’t open up  previously).

This sparked a long conversation and trust was built.

I surely felt like smiling!
